Assembly Technician
About The Position
Fillauer is hiring a Manufacturing Assembly Technician in Chattanooga, Tennessee to produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies to meet production schedules. Assembles products using instructions, bills of materials and engineering drawings. Interprets technical documents, such as diagrams, schematics, or other verbal or written instructions. Documents actions by electronically recording labor for each job. Ensures quality standards are met. Verifies specifications by measuring completed component. Identifies any defective items and handles according to established procedures. Resolves assembly problems by communicating with peers or supervisors. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with company standards. Uses hand tools, power tools, custom fixtures, drill presses, arbor presses, ovens, heat guns and other light duty equipment. May perform painting, laser etching, sewing and/or plastic thermoforming.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Proven experience in assembly
- Good understanding of quality control principles
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and safely
- Good math/analytical skills with ability to use tools/take measurements
- Must work well in a team environment
- Good communications skills
- Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
