About The Position

Sonic Incytes is seeking an Assembly Technician to join our growing team! The Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling and testing components of the Velacur® device in compliance with our quality and regulatory standards. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, technical aptitude, and a commitment to quality. Working in a dynamic environment, you will play a crucial part in producing a high-quality medical device that directly impacts patient care. This role reports to the Director of Manufacturing and Supply Chain and is an in-person position in Vancouver, BC.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in electronics or electro-mechanical device assembly
  • Skilled in using both hand tools and electronic tools, including proficiency in soldering and analog/digital testing.
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly processes, including troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with quality control standards in a regulated environment, such as ISO 9001 or ISO 13485.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and convey information clearly.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • A proactive, self-starting attitude with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite for daily documentation and communication.
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a team-oriented mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical diploma or certification in electronics, mechatronics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in quality-controlled settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build product as scheduled in accordance with Manufacturing Orders received following approved work instructions, standard operating procedures, and specifications.
  • Ensure all production and quality targets are met. Communicate any part shortages to inventory manager.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical testing on assembled devices to verify functionality and safety, conducting inspections at various assembly stages to ensure all components and systems meet specifications.
  • Receive raw materials from suppliers, inspecting them to ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) standards. Document and report any quality issues, coordinating with quality control and procurement as needed.
  • Diagnose and resolve assembly issues to uphold product quality and adhere to technical standards. Perform repair, inspection, reassembly, replacement, and adjustment of the device as required.
  • Receive and inspect parts and products returned from customers, documenting issues and coordinating with quality control and service teams as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly and test results in alignment with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485) and the internal Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Work with quality control and engineering teams to continuously enhance assembly techniques and processes.
  • Assist inventory manager in quarterly and yearly inventory counts.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment. Maintain production benches, production parts storage, tools, and supplies in a clean, organized workspace.
  • Assist with training new and current team members on assembly procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
