About The Position

Innomotics is seeking an Assembly Setup Operator for the 1st shift to join their team. The Assembly Setup Operator will be responsible for preparing, storing, loading, unloading, receiving, putting away, and assisting in all material movement and storage functions to support motor assembly. This role reports directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor and is part of a collective bargaining union. The position is a 1st shift role, with potential training on the first shift until fully qualified.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Basic understanding of warehouse operations (receiving, picking, packing, shipping)
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate fork and hand trucks, overhead cranes, hoists, and other equipment used for storage or movement of material.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain lift truck training and certification in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain compliant HAZMAT training (EPA/RCRA & DOT CFR 49).
  • Demonstrated ability to be able to proficiently use hand tools, squares and other carpentry tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand bills of material, move orders, requisitions, packing lists and bills of lading.
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills to perform inventory control into SAP, MS Office, windows navigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to fill materials and issue shortages and disbursements.
  • Demonstrated ability to issue pre-stage material according to pick lists for assembly.
  • Demonstrated ability in the movement and storage of materials to eliminate material damage.

Responsibilities

  • Perform housekeeping and 6S activities adhering to all OSHA and Innomotics LLC safety and work practice policies.
  • Effectively operate a computer, including basic functions of Microsoft Office products and SAP.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications and manufacturing methods.
  • Measure and record dimensions using measuring equipment related to processes.
  • Stamp or sign-off and date all labor packet operations performed.
  • Follow appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Work independently with minimal direction from supervisor.
  • Meet all physical job requirements.
  • Perform material handling, and other assigned tasks (hand truck, crane).
  • Adhere to all safe work practices and plant rules of conduct.
  • Adhere to all outlined section and operational processes and procedures.
  • Notify supervisor of quality, process and/or safety issues and concerns.
  • Store and index all materials as necessary.
  • Handle and transport hazardous waste as required by state, federal and local government agencies along with Siemens Manufacturing Methods.
  • Inspect haz-waste accumulation drum for proper labeling, signs of leakage and ensure the accumulation date and contents are listed on the haz-waste label before moving the drum to the Hazardous Waste Storage Area.
  • Dispose of all scrap and trash. Keep areas clean and organized.
  • Assist in movement of machinery and material as required by maintenance.
  • Receive, transport, store, and supply all stationary supplies as necessary.
  • Use computer (PC) to manage inventory (Kanban) bins/locations.
  • Use computer (PC) to find inventory to determine location and verify quantities.
  • Execute transactions on a computer (PC) to record inventory quantities, locations, and movements.
  • Fill material, identify missing parts and components and fulfill disbursements as required, including bar code scanning or manual entry into computer using SAP or other ERP system.
  • Maintain KANBAN areas.
  • Perform cycle counts, as required.
  • Issue and pre-stage material according to pick lists for assembly.
  • Perform duties to support assembly.
  • Adhere to countermeasures which arise from delivered unissued report as well as all movement types (maintain high level of inventory accuracy).
