They are actively seeking an Assembly Technician to build product subassemblies or final assemblies without supervision, prepare work by studying instructions, drawings, and parts lists, verify parts, and gather necessary materials. The role involves inspecting finished products for quality and adherence to specifications, verifying and testing components and assemblies for functionality, monitoring and adjusting production processes, troubleshooting equipment issues, and setting up, operating, and shutting down production equipment according to good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures. The technician will also calibrate or adjust equipment using various tools and prepare production documents.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Assembly Technician.
  • Basic understanding of part numbering system.
  • Basic understanding of manual assembly mechanics and methods.
  • Ability to follow instructions for assembly and testing from documented procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, prints, sketches and drawings as required.
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task and stay organized and take initiative.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills; normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer literacy; ability to use email, internet and other Windows/Microsoft-based software, and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build product subassemblies or final assemblies without supervision.
  • Prepare work to be completed by studying work instructions, approved drawings and parts lists; verifying parts provided by storeroom staff are correct and complete; and gathering tools and other materials necessary to complete the job.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
  • Verify and/or test all components and finished assemblies for functionality according to specifications. Follow quality control guidelines to accept or reject parts.
  • Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity; troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices, or products.
  • Set up, operate, and shut down production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Calibrate or adjust equipment to ensure quality production, using tools such as calipers, micrometers, plug gauges, presses or ring gauges.
  • Prepare production documents, such as work instructions, and productivity reports.
