About The Position

This role involves performing various assembly tasks, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical assembly, using hand and power tools. The technician will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area, following safety regulations, and reporting any unsafe conditions or defective materials. Key duties include interpreting schematics and drawings, managing inventory, assisting with equipment maintenance, and potentially performing welding, machining, or finishing tasks. The position requires adherence to established methods and procedures, completing tasks according to manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision, and executing safety and facility improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Ability to work overtime beyond 40 hours/week dependent on varying business needs.
  • Ability to stand and walk on a concrete surface for extended periods (approx. 3 hours/each) throughout a standard work shift.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions specifically for hands and fingers requiring good dexterity.
  • Ability to sit for long periods, reach overhead, and bend, crouch, and kneel to floor level to access parts and components.
  • Ability to occasionally ascend and descend work platform stairs at varying heights, work in awkward positions, and on mechanics creeper at floor level.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power pneumatic tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations and escalate unsafe conditions.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Accurately follow work assignments including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical assembly.
  • Perform material handling.
  • Conduct standard housekeeping.
  • Participate in safety and quality audits.
  • Perform multiple processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies using hand and power pneumatic tooling.
  • Read and interpret schematics and drawings, communicating with Engineers as necessary.
  • Check inventory of assigned tasks and areas daily, reporting potential parts shortages.
  • Abide by methods and procedures inherent in the position.
  • Assist with maintenance on company equipment.
  • Perform occasional welding, machining, finishing, etc., as required, within personal capabilities.
  • Execute safety and facility improvement projects.
  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
