About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking an Assembly Technician III, 2nd Shift. This position is eligible for a variable incentive program. The Assembly Technician role involves assembling, wiring, fitting, and modifying complicated work in the manufacture of medium and high voltage, indoor and outdoor assemblies, breaker and auxiliary compartments, breakers, customer service orders, power modules, and any sub-assemblies associated with these. This role requires working to manufacturing information, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, written or oral instructions from supervision or Engineering to established procedures. This describes the general nature and level of work being performed and is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, or skills required. Other duties may be assigned as business needs require.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • 1 year of assembly experience.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and overtime to support business needs.
  • Able to safely and effectively use various hand tools, power tools, step ladders, and cranes to assemble units.
  • Proficient in standard computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook and job‑specific software such as Enovia.
  • Stand, walk, or sit for periods of time.
  • Reach at or above shoulder level; use hands to handle, feel, and grip materials or tools.
  • Stoop, lift, carry, push, and pull as part of regular job duties.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Push or pull loads up to or exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Use near and far vision, depth perception, and color discrimination.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of Industrial manufacturing experience
  • 1 year of experience using hand and air tools
  • Strong experience in reading Manufacturing Information (MI)
  • South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, wire, fit, and modify work in complicated assemblies above the typical complexity.
  • Fill out ISO checklists, quality checklists, customer checklists, feedback forms, and production lists for supervision, drafting, customer service, and engineering as required.
  • Mount and install electrical equipment and perform wire operations as needed.
  • Regularly lift and assemble with heavy copper parts.
  • Maintain minimum levels of Kanban inventory and report shortages to appropriate operators.
  • Inspect all assemblies for loose or missing hardware and cleanliness.
  • Respond to change notices, customer requested adjustments, and development needs.
  • Assist engineering, drafting, and supervision with customer-initiated development work.
  • Work to manufacturing information, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, written or oral instructions from supervision or Engineering to established procedures.
