About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking an Assembly Technician II for the 1st Shift. This position assembles, wires, fits, and modifies components used in the manufacture of medium and high‑voltage indoor and outdoor assemblies. This includes breaker and auxiliary compartments, breakers, power modules, customer service orders, and related sub‑assemblies. The role involves working from manufacturing information, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, established procedures, and written or verbal instructions. Responsibilities include mounting and installing electrical and mechanical equipment, receiving, picking, labeling, packing, and preparing materials for shipment, operating forklifts and/or cranes, maintaining Kanban inventory levels, inspecting assemblies, and responding to engineering change notices and modifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Skilled in the safe and efficient use of hand tools and pneumatic (air) tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, persuasive abilities, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools, step ladders, and cranes to assemble products and verify quality in a Lean environment.
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications (Microsoft Outlook and Teams) and job‑specific systems such as ENOVIA.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands for handling and feeling.
  • Frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, and pull.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and push/pull 50 lbs. or more with or without accommodation.
  • Vision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and color discrimination.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience
  • South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Assembles, wires, fits, and modifies components used in the manufacture of medium and high‑voltage indoor and outdoor assemblies, including breaker and auxiliary compartments, breakers, power modules, customer service orders, and related sub‑assemblies.
  • Works from manufacturing information, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, established procedures, and written or verbal instructions from supervisors or engineering; reads and interprets mechanical drawings as required.
  • Mounts and installs electrical and mechanical equipment, including mimic bus, painting floors, covers, and related components as needed.
  • Receives, picks, labels, packs, and prepares materials and assemblies for shipment.
  • Operates forklifts and/or cranes as required.
  • Maintains minimum Kanban inventory levels and reports material shortages to appropriate personnel.
  • Inspects assemblies for loose or missing hardware and overall cleanliness.
  • Responds to engineering change notices, customer-requested modifications, and product development needs.
