About The Position

This position reports to the Assembly Line Supervisor and Assembly Lead. The Assembly Team Member is responsible for performing job tasks and functions associated with the assembly of Landing Gear, Landing Gear Parts, and all related processes, parts, and components. The role requires the ability to work independently and as a team player, contributing to the success of the assembly team. Responsibilities include logging and completing training documents, performing tasks safely in accordance with safety rules and procedures, and gaining proficiency in all assembly line positions through daily rotation.

Requirements

  • Completion of High School education or GED.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment safely and productively.
  • Ability with dexterity to work in all assembly areas with varied part weights and sizes.
  • Highly dependable, motivated, and possesses a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Capable of using applicable hand and power tools to include grinding tools.
  • Mechanically inclined or previous experience in assembly.
  • Required to understand and strictly abide by Work Instructions (WI).
  • Ability to gain knowledge of, understanding of, and abide by JOST’s Basic Processes and gain knowledge of company products.
  • Comply with quality, environmental, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Regularly and repetitively required to walk, stand, see, hear, use hands, reach, stoop, bend, twist, and lift or move objects which weigh a minimum of 5 pounds to a maximum 51 pounds with or without assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble landing gear legs and components correctly, efficiently, with consistent quality work, and following standardized work and quality standards.
  • Follow all standard work and Work Instructions (WI’s) and not deviate from them.
  • Work independently and as a team player, work well with others, and contribute to the success of the assembly team.
  • Log and complete training documents.
  • Perform tasks safely in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
  • Learn, cross-train, and gain proficiency in each position/station on the assembly lines and rotate daily as required to each of the positions.
  • Communicate in a courteous manner with coworkers, supervisors, and other JOST teams.
  • Perform any additional duties that may be assigned and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.
