About The Position
Siemens Mobility is seeking an experienced Assembly Team Lead to support our Motors, Gears, and Drive Unit production operations. As the first level of operational support on the manufacturing floor, this hands-on leadership role partners with production supervisors to advance safety, quality, training, workflow coordination, and daily production execution. The Team Lead serves as a technical resource and mentor, helping employees overcome barriers, solve production challenges, and contribute to continuous improvement. This role leads through expertise, coaching, and collaboration rather than direct supervisory authority.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production operations, with strong technical knowledge of shop-floor processes, tools, and standard work.
- Demonstrated experience training, coaching, or mentoring employees and influencing others without direct supervisory authority.
- Ability to troubleshoot production challenges, support root-cause problem solving, and partner effectively with supervisors and cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge of environmental health and safety requirements, quality standards, 6S, and continuous improvement practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to organize priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, specifications, or related production documentation and accurately record information.
Responsibilities
- Partner with production supervisors to coordinate daily workflow, clarify priorities, support production execution, and help remove barriers that affect safety, quality, or output.
- Serve as a hands-on technical resource by troubleshooting assembly and production challenges, escalating issues when appropriate, and supporting practical problem solving.
- Train, coach, and mentor employees on standard work, technical processes, safety expectations, and quality requirements while reinforcing a positive team environment.
- Monitor adherence to safety, quality, and production standards; communicate concerns and status updates clearly to employees, supervisors, and supporting teams.
- Promote continuous improvement by supporting 6S, identifying process or workflow opportunities, and helping implement sustainable improvements.
