About The Position

The Assembly & Repair Technician is responsible for the assembly, trade outfitting, repair, and refurbishment of temporary sanitary pumphouse systems and other company equipment. This hands-on, multi-trade role involves assembling and outfitting new systems as well as systematically rehabilitating legacy systems and rental equipment returning from field deployment. Working as part of a 7-person shop crew, the successful candidate must be a flexible team player capable of performing work across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and finishing disciplines. Technicians will rotate between tasks based on current project needs, equipment condition, and turnaround schedules.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience involving at least two relevant trades or disciplines, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical repair, or painting/finishing, with the willingness and aptitude to cross-train in additional areas.
  • Demonstrated experience using common commercial hand and power tools, which may include framing nailers, miter and table saws, pipe cutting and joining tools, crimpers, drills, impact drivers, grinders, and multimeters.
  • Strong hands-on mechanical ability with the capacity to understand how individual components interact as part of a complete system.
  • Ability to identify mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and structural problems and work through practical repair solutions.
  • Ability to read and follow shop drawings, assembly schematics, dimensional cut sheets, equipment specifications, and diagnostic checklists.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach, with the ability to work closely alongside other crew members across multiple trades and tasks.
  • Self-motivated and dependable, with the ability to maintain a steady work pace while meeting project schedules and equipment turnaround requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with industrial water pumps, lift stations, float switches, temporary utility systems, or similar mechanical systems.
  • Experience repairing or refurbishing commercial, industrial, construction, rental, or fleet equipment.
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead hoists, or similar material-handling equipment.
  • Formal vocational or technical training in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical repair, or a related skilled trade.
  • Relevant trade certifications or documented apprenticeship experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and outfit new systems, including carpentry & framing, plumbing & pipefitting, electrical rough-in & outfitting, and finishing & painting.
  • Route, cut, glue, and fit rigid and flexible piping for various connections.
  • Install electrical panels, conduit, outlets, lighting, space heaters, and control wiring.
  • Prepare surfaces, seal and caulk seams, prime, and apply protective interior and exterior coatings.
  • Assemble, install, and secure mechanical components and supporting hardware.
  • Conduct comprehensive intake inspections of legacy systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, or replace damaged or worn components.
  • Perform structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and cosmetic repairs.
  • Pressure-test fluid lines and conduct functional mechanical and electrical testing.
  • Pressure-wash, clean, sanitize, prepare, and repaint systems and enclosures.
  • Assist with modifications and upgrades to existing systems.
  • Coordinate daily work and task handoffs with fellow crew members.
  • Maintain shared shop tools and equipment.
  • Organize and maintain commonly used materials and consumables.
  • Notify management of damaged tools, material shortages, or inventory needs.
  • Maintain clean and orderly personal work areas and shared shop spaces.
  • Adhere to all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, equipment operating procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and movement of systems, materials, and components.
