The world relies on HPS to continually conceive and produce state-of-the-art transformer technology. We currently have an opening for a Reactor Assembler, at our Walkerton Manufacturing location, come grow with us!

Requirements

  • High School (Grade 12)

Nice To Haves

  • Education in Manufacturing or Electrical Principals would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Select appropriate orders dry assembly kit to match coils provided by the winding department or as determined by team lead or supervisor
  • When specified on spec, finish coils prior to stacking
  • As specified on order spec, obtain appropriate steel and stack each unit
  • Weld units as per established equipment & process
  • After welding, complete dry assembly hook-up process of each unit (i.e. leads, lugs, terminals etc.) and verify as per order spec
  • If required by spec, verify gapping and perform dry test. Repeat the process as required
  • If required on order spec, place core & coil in appropriate enclosure in preparation for potting
  • Send units to either varnish or potting process as specified on order spec
  • Based on SPI set-up resin equipment and test to verify unit is ready for production
  • Add “Magfill” and “Resin” as indicated on order specs and as per SPI
  • Ensure inside and outside of potted enclosures are clean of any resin or Magfill material
  • Ensure resin is curing correctly before moving unit onto final hook-up and testing
  • Select appropriate orders final assembly kit to match units provided by dry assembly or varnish or as determined by team lead or supervisor
  • Complete final assembly process of each unit and verify as per order spec. This includes terminal blocks, leads, lugs, ground connections, labels, nameplates, accessories etc.
  • Move units to QA testers for final test
  • Receive units from QA as they have been tested and passed
  • Package units as specified in either order spec or SPI’s
  • Include appropriate installation/operation manuals, labels etc.
  • Transfer the units to shipping
  • System count (MES) the unit(s) for each order processed
