Assembly/Pack Department Leader

We’re looking for a Department Leader who can guide our Assembly team to run smoothly, safely, and efficiently—while always keeping quality at the highest level. In this role, you’ll lead the day-to-day operations on the floor, making sure production goals are met, schedules stay on track, and your team has what they need to succeed. You’ll also look ahead, driving improvements and new ways of working to help us grow stronger together.
Requirements
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to set expectations and hold the team accountable.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- A track record of driving safety, quality, and efficiency improvements.
- Solid communication skills and a passion for coaching and developing people.
- Problem-solving ability with a continuous improvement mindset.
- At least 5 years of experience leading people in a lean manufacturing environment.
- A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent hands-on leadership experience in manufacturing.
- A track record of making good decisions and delivering results in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong people skills and the ability to build trust and lead a team.
- A sharp eye for detail.
- Comfort juggling multiple priorities and adjusting when things change.
- Experience leading projects from start to finish and meeting deadlines.
- The ability to work through challenges in a collaborative, solution-focused way.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Model safe work practices, encourage strong habits, and ensure compliance with 5S, SDS, and audit requirements.
- Build a culture where “first-time quality” is the standard, coach your team on processes, and share customer feedback to drive improvements.
- Keep schedules on track, assign resources effectively, and problem-solve with your team to keep performance strong.
- Engage the team in cost reduction, waste elimination, and process improvements using Lean principles and PDCA.
- Lead by example, communicate openly, coach team members on both process and personal growth, and champion Hubbardton Forge’s values every day.
