About The Position

Operates machines to assemble parts and conducts quality control checks. Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools. Prepares work by studying parts lists and gathering necessary items. The ITW StampTech Fastener TM Division serves major OEMs and Tier suppliers in the North American automotive market, supplying stamped metal fasteners and engineered fastener assemblies. The division has annual revenues of approximately $160M and locations in Gallatin, TN, Portland, TN, Lexington, KY & Naugatuck, CT. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6-12 months of related industrial experience with strong troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience with operating a forklift.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Great organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effectively communicate in a professional demeanor when dealing with the public or any level of employees.
  • Ability to safely work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently.
  • Ability to work overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Operates machine to assemble product and completes quality checks.
  • Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
  • Reads and deciphers schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Positions or aligns components and parts, either manually or with hoists.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Changes out parts.
  • Performs troubleshooting to ensure quality.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Uses a variety of gauges to ensure quality.
  • Labels finished goods.
  • Prepares product to ship free of mixtures and product defects.
  • Weighs and checks finished goods.
  • Competently performs all tasks with a focus on safety within a fast-paced environment.
  • Notifies supervisor of issues with machine for maintenance.
