About The Position

Under direct supervision, the Assembly Operator performs routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes. This role requires availability for 2nd shift, with shifts determined by business needs. The position is onsite and requires U.S. citizenship due to program/contract information access requirements. Training is typically conducted on 1st shift for up to 4 weeks, and candidates must be willing to train on 1st shift.

Requirements

  • Requires HS Diploma or equivalent. In the absence of a HS diploma or equivalent, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Must be willing and able to work 2nd shift.
  • May be required to be on feet for long periods of time.
  • Safety glasses and other safety equipment are required depending on task.
  • Must be able to effectively work in an environment requiring repetitive job responsibilities.
  • Ability to focus on safety and quality is extremely important.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and assembly instructions.
  • Must be highly motivated and dedicated to exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform machine and/or manual assembly.
  • Perform scope, soldering, and computer work.
  • Perform unique assembly processes.
  • Accurately read and follow procedures, routing, and other work instructions.
  • Take ownership of the accuracy of processes.
  • Meet internal and external customer deadlines.
  • Build parts that meet drawing specifications.
  • Comply with applicable elements of quality systems (ACE).
  • Demonstrate initiative to keep processes moving and on schedule.
  • Understand and use computer tools such as SAP and accurately follow work instructions.
  • Achieve special process certification where applicable.
  • Demonstrate a proactive role in problem solving.
  • Pursue certifications in continuous improvement (ACE).
  • Interface with other functional groups to update, inform, acknowledge, or resolve problems related to production issues.
  • Effectively interact with others.
  • Participate in cost reduction plans.
  • Participate in waste minimization efforts.
  • Participate in audits.
