About The Position

Flex-N-Gate is a leading manufacturer and supplier of components for the automotive industry, recently ranked 10th of the 150 Top North American Suppliers in “Automotive News.” A growing and vital company, Flex-N-Gate provides a great opportunity for hard-working and skilled individuals. Guardian West currently has openings on 3rd shift (11pm-7am). The pay rate starts at $20.25 per hour, increasing to $20.75 after 3 months.

Requirements

Minimum High School Diploma or GED
Ability to speak, read and understand English
Ability to work in a drug free workplace and pass a drug screen

Responsibilities

Standing continuously on cement floor with intermittent walking to move bumpers or retrieve attachments
Wash bumpers on tables/ stands (~42-inch height) or in floor racks
Retrieving bumpers from racks ranging from floor to 6 feet in height and carrying them to assembly stations
Attaching nuts, brackets, lights, wiring and plastic components to the bumper. Requires repetitive wrist and hand motion and fine motor coordination to manipulate nuts, washers; forceful pinching to fasten clips
Use of 12-pound nut runner at 4-foot height for fastening nuts. Hammering bumper attachments with rubber mallet
Operating a manipulator with two hands and thumb controls on handles to assist with lifting and placing assembled bumper into floor racks. Pushing and pulling on handles to maneuver manipulator into place.
Manually lifting bumpers (weight up to 63.5 pounds)
Push/ pull racks of bumpers (up to 25 pounds of force)
Move bumpers from one assembly station to the next as they move thru the assembly process. Requires repetitive gripping, lifting and maneuvering of bumpers.
Achieve a target rate of production of 500 bumpers / 8-hour shift on the DS line.
Rotate positions within the assembly cells up to every 2 hours.
