Following specified assembly methods, assembles minor units or subassemblies with a small number of details and very light parts following standard methods and procedures. Performs a variety of duties to pack, ship, and/or mount scopes on specified products.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles minor units or subassemblies with a small number of details and very light parts following standard methods and procedures.
  • Performs a variety of duties to pack, ship, and/or mount scopes on specified products.
  • Makes simple fits using hand and light power tools, reams, taps, files non-critical parts and makes simple adjustments or alignment of parts for free working and proper fit.
  • Packs product in accordance with specifications for various models and uses prescribed methods to maintain quality standards for packing.
  • Installs scope to base of rifles. Utilizes proper spud, sights through scope and adjusts scope to align scope to grid pattern. Adjusts screws to provide for proper adjustment and to allow for future yardage and windage adjustments. Adjusts eye relief as required and tightens scope.
  • Makes adjustments for required fits, clearances, tightness, and alignment according to prescribed procedures and methods to maintain quality standards.
  • Makes minor repairs, as required.
  • Transports and maintains material and supplies within area as required.
  • Uses such hand tools and holding fixtures as necessary.
  • Makes simple tests of completed subassemblies or components following prescribed procedures and limits of acceptance.
  • Performs repairs to rejected products or components as assigned, following prescribed repair guidelines.
  • Maintains standard level of production output given normal level of production interference.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Maintains equipment as required.
  • Follows specific safety and operating procedures.
  • May train or instruct others how to perform this job.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.
