About The Position

Fabricates, assembles, reworks, and repairs plastic products, applying knowledge of working characteristics of plastics bonding techniques, using precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, work orders, and related documentation to define methods, sequence of operations, and dimensional finish specifications. Responsibilities include deburring products, using hand tools for assembly, verifying dimensions with precision instruments, and familiarity with small mills and/or sonic welders. The operator will fit and assemble parts, attach hardware, apply adhesives, and repair/rework damaged assemblies. Additionally, the role requires handling and packing parts according to customer requirements, maintaining a clean work area, upholding 5S efforts, and daily review of production requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Blueprint interpretation, GD&T, and SPC capability.
  • Comprehension and application of training manuals and materials.
  • Good multi-tasking skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Positive, proactive behavior in the execution of all job duties.
  • Interact with the Quality department to ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Good math comprehension.
  • English language proficiency to include verbal and written communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in ISO13485/ISO9001/TS16949/AS9100/FDA preferred
  • Good knowledge of molding and manufacturing theories preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets blueprints, work orders and related documentation to define methods & sequence of operations and dimensional finish specifications.
  • Deburrs product per work instructions, controls plans, and customer specifications, using tools such as scalpels, specialty blades, sandpaper and cutters.
  • Uses some hand tools for assembly to print such as torque wrenches, vices, arbor presses, and screw drivers.
  • Verifies dimensions of parts, using precision instruments, like dial indicators, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Familiar with small mill and/or sonic welder.
  • Fits and assembles parts and attaches hardware and fittings, like brackets, hinges, pins, and nuts, using clamps, jigs, fixtures, hand tools, and fasteners.
  • Applies tape, foam, or other type of adhesives to assemblies.
  • Repairs and reworks damaged or defective part assemblies.
  • Handling and packing of parts that adhere to customer requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area to support safety efforts and awareness.
  • Uphold the 5S efforts, ensuring materials, parts, and liquids are kept off the floor and machines.
  • Daily review of production requirements.
