About The Position

Our client manufactures Relays and Switches for the Aerospace industry! Our client is seeking candidates for an Assembly Operator I position at their Fairview, NC facility. The Assembly Operator I is responsible for component assembly. This role may require use of microscope, small hand tools, and fitting components into fixtures. Use of work instructions is also required. The ideal candidate can work well in teams, has the desire to learn, and possess the attention to detail needed to make quality parts for our customers. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following company's EH&S policies and procedures.

Requirements

Minimum 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment required with knowledge and understanding of manufacturing principles such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity.
Must be able to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to remain in stationary position 75% of the time.
Must be able to operate machinery.
Must be able to move between work zones.
Must be proficient and able to understand written instructions in English language.

Nice To Haves

HS diploma or GED preferred.
Basic computer skills preferred.
Good communication skills.
Ability to interpret product blueprints preferred.
Ability to multitask and prioritize work to successfully accomplish job duties.
Experience with using measuring devices (gages, calipers, etc.) preferred.
Available to work overtime to support production goals as needed.

Responsibilities

Inspection of own work using quality standards and work instructions.
Conduct pull tests as needed for particular operations.
Measure components using calipers, gages, or other measuring devices.
Inspect product to print.
Complete necessary operational paperwork required to maintain the traceability of product.
May troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment.
General housekeeping of work area.
Follow company and department guidelines, procedures and policies.
Follow safety guidelines.
Perform all other work-related duties as assigned.
Read and perform tasks according to drawings.
