The Assembly Operator's primary function is to produce quality products in a timely manner, requiring good verbal and written communication skills. Operators may work in a high-performance team environment or independently to achieve company goals. They are expected to follow one-piece flow, read and follow standard work, and periodically attend additional job training for continuous improvement. The Backup Team Leader is a member of the work team with cross-functional responsibilities, providing support to the assigned team to assure quality product and daily schedule attainment. This position ensures standard work is in place and followed, and serves as a facilitator for the work team in problem-solving, issue resolution, continuous improvement, and training. The Backup Team Leader ensures a safe work environment is maintained at all times, is accessible to the production floor 95% of the time, and must be willing to learn all jobs on the team to cover for absences or relief. This role also involves understanding safety policies and practices, performing daily audits, and being able to locate Hazcom labels, LOTO procedures, and perform injury/incident reporting.
