The Opportunity: Avantor is seeking an Operator at our Nusil site. This role will be a full-time position based in Bakersfield, CA. Requirements

High School diploma or GED preferred.
1-2 years of experience in packaging or distribution.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a chemical plant.
Understanding/familiarity with cGMP and RCRA training.

Responsibilities

Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
Comply with company standards and OSHA requirements.
Ensure the lines are set up and running according to the production schedule and work orders.
Understand line and pump configuration and be able to clean and inspect lines as well as perform line changeovers as needed.
Perform a pre-start-up inspection of equipment and ensure that any items that failed checks are addressed.
Maintain manufacturing areas clean and organized.
Willing to multitask and be flexible.
Keep accurate production records.
Collaborate with Supervisors and Maintenance Personnel to resolve equipment setup and operations issues.
Work with the QA Dept to understand, recognize, and rectify quality issues.
Has the authority and responsibility to stop the line and notify QA of a contamination event.
Ability to perform the duties of both a packaging operator and a material handler.
Manage hazardous and universal waste in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
Demonstrate mechanical ability.
Critical decision-making skills, creativity, and multi-tasking ability.
