As an Assembly Mechanic reporting to the Assembly Supervisor, you'll play a hands-on role in building IDEAL's specialty electric machines. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or certified equivalent
  • Minimum of two years working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to read and understand prints, use logic, and troubleshoot problems
  • Teamwork approach with excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time-management skills
  • Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by ITAR (22 C.F.R. § 120.62) or be able to obtain the appropriate U.S. government authorization (export license) to access such technology or technical data.
  • Regularly required to talk and listen/hear, talk, read, and count
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to enter small and/or confined spaces
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb, or balance
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted occasionally, and to climb ladders and scaffolding to heights of 20 feet with regularity
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating various manufacturing equipment, forklifts, and overhead cranes is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly, spot welding, machine operation, stacking, pole winding, and welding, in the manufacture of quality products
  • Operate cranes and powered industrial trucks (PIT) as directed
  • Operate a variety of measurement tools and hand tool types, including manual, hydraulic, and pneumatic
  • Complete tasks following work instructions/procedures and according to drawings and prints
  • Complete and submit manufacturing, quality, and other company-required documents when necessary
  • Coordinate work efforts with the Engineering department as needed
  • Contribute to workplace safety by following safety policies and practicing good housekeeping protocols
  • Support the company’s quality objectives by following quality policies and procedures
