About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for performing under limited supervision in the assembly of ground support equipment. This position will also be providing instructional lead to assembly workers pertaining to the assembly of dashes in towing tractors by performing the following duties. The incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Prior knowledge and understanding of common automotive/mechanical concepts
Ability to diagnose problems and make repairs
Ability to read blueprints and diagrams
Ability and willingness to cross-train and work in multiple roles
Prepare and maintain records and reports
Use of safety glasses and steel toed shoes required

Responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs
Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs vehicles and equipment
Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment
Prepares and maintains records and reports
Use current methods, materials, tools and techniques for vehicle repair and maintenance
Knowledge of Paint and body work
Knowledge of mechanical design and fabrication, electrical systems including computerized induction/ignition systems
Use of power and hand tools, diagnostic equipment as available
Follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers’ service specifications
Ability to communication effectively verbally and in writing
Follow safety practices and procedures
Perform other duties as required
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and customers
