The Assembly Mechanic is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting hydraulic components and systems to ensure they meet quality and performance standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hydraulic systems, and the ability to read technical drawings and schematics.

Requirements

  • 1 – 2 years of vocational technical training or equivalent on the job experience
  • Proficient use of hand and powered tools, air and electric.
  • Read and understand prints and assemble components according to instructions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with others
  • Follow directions and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, standing throughout the day
  • Ability to read measuring tools (calipers, micrometers)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with hydraulic assembly including installation of fittings and hoses
  • Understanding manufacturing process and principles

Responsibilities

  • Transports specified components to work area either manually or using an overhead crane
  • Assembles components and subassemblies according to knowledge or unit being assembled or following blueprints
  • Aligns and fastens components together with bolts, screws, or other fasteners
  • Operates a torque wrench to tighten bolts to the tension specifications
  • Operates a hose fitting crimping machine
  • Operates a magnet drill for boring holes
  • Greases or applies other lubricant on specified parts according to specifications
  • Inspects components at various stages of the assembly as well as the final inspection of the completed product
  • Fill out paperwork indicating completion of task
  • Will be cross trained to work in various stages of assembly within the work area
