About The Position

Manage all aspects of tractor and implement assembly at the Battleboro, NC location. Responsible for managing Assembly Operators, meeting assembly schedule, ensuring tractors and implements are assembled to meet specifications and maintaining Quality standards. Responsible for development and execution of Company Safety Program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of document work experience in inventory management and/or logistics, preferably in a manufacturing environment, including responsibility for safety
  • Experience working with transportation and third-party carriers
  • Good analytical ability, including the ability to analyze statistical data and make sound recommendations
  • Solid presentation and communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information one-on-one, and small group situations to customers and team members
  • Must have demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple demands
  • Must be innovative, and performance and quality driven
  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills and capabilities as a part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or relevant software packages

Responsibilities

  • Manages Assembly operations and team.
  • Ensures that Assembly processes are performed in a safe and efficient manner, meeting company standards for productivity and quality.
  • Directly supervises assembly team.
  • Assigns assembly personnel as needed to meet schedule requirements for assembling tractors and loaders.
  • Develops and maintains standard work procedures to ensure Tractors and Implements are assembled correctly and in accordance with specifications.
  • Monitors assembly processes to ensure finished products meet quality standards.
  • Ensures assembly personnel follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains safe operating procedures and maintains a safe work environment.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Regularly reviews work processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, and quality within the Assembly department.
  • Develops and distributes daily production reports.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of Safety Programs for LS Tractor Facilities.
  • Schedules and participates in facility safety meetings, and provides leadership in the area of Facility Safety.
  • Monitors effective execution of plant safety programs and policies.
  • Manages the facility personal protective equipment, work clothing and safety equipment programs according to company standards and operating budget.
  • Develops and implements effective programs for the identification, prevention and control of occupational injuries.
  • Develops, coordinates and administers health and safety education and training programs across all locations.
  • Serves on the facility safety committee.
  • Maintains current awareness of applicable federal, state and local health, industrial hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Maintains an accurate OSHA 200/300 logs.
  • Accompanies visiting inspectors and reports findings.
  • Administers the facility hazard communication program, including maintaining up-to-date MSDS’s, effective identification of all chemicals, chemical inventory and related training and education programs including: Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Hazard Communication, PPE, Hot Work, Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, Emergency Response, etc.
  • Reviews all manufacturing and support operations to assure ongoing safety.
  • Assists the line organization in developing job safety analyses (JSA’s) and safe operating procedures for all tasks and in investigating incidents.
  • Develops and implements audit programs to review and assure compliance with applicable health and safety standards.
  • Reviews and manages site Safety Audit and Observations Programs with emphasis on promoting heightened levels of Safety awareness.
  • Acts as a key member of the team.
  • Actively engages in team meetings, and provides timely feedback to team.
  • May provide and/or receive input from across functional boundaries.
  • Understands organizational mesh points and potential synergies.
