About The Position

The Assembly Supervisor/Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating the material flow and activities of subassembly, assembly, and shipping of the company’s products. The incumbent is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities: Issue and assign Work Orders to assembly personnel as directed by the Production Schedule. Coordinate the work flow within the department and coordinate with other departmental Supervisors as needed. Monitor Production Schedule for the Assembly department, schedule upcoming activities, and adjust work schedules to meet production schedules. Develop and maintain quality and productivity metrics and implement ongoing plans to continuously improve the Assembly department’s performance. Manage inventory of materials related to assembly and production of final product. Provide input for monthly department budget and review budget when needed. Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Evaluate assembly procedures and safety procedures on an on-going basis to ensure that all procedures are revised as needed and author documents as needed. Analyze and resolve work problems and/or assists workers in solving work problems. Follow the "SQDC" process to gather, analyze, and evaluate data to recommend and implement process improvements that allow for maximum efficiency and productivity. Update the "SQDC" board and prepare for the boardwalk meeting and present when needed. Interact with the Quality Control department to ensure that only quality products are produced and released for shipment to customers. Work with Purchasing to ensure that all needed materials are readily available for use in Assembly, including but not limited to raw materials, parts, and safety equipment. Coordinate with Shipping and Receiving to meet logistical goals with freight companies. Supervise/manage Assembly personnel, including supervising/managing daily activities, interviewing, onboarding, training, performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations, as per company policy. Perform all the functions and responsibilities of subordinate roles when required. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following standards and procedures and comply with legal regulations. Perform other functions and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five years of assembly experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform intermediate-to-advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel as well in an ERP system.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to liaise professionally with team members and system users.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend production requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Seven plus years of experience is preferred
  • a minimum of three years in a supervisory level.
  • Experience working in Fishbowl is preferred.
  • Ability to travel within the continental United States on an as-needed basis.
