About The Position

The Assembly Line lead is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of production employees ensuring that motivation and performance levels are sustained. The Line Lead will focus on employee productivity, quality, safety and training.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in IT, or related discipline, and/or equivalent related work experience
  • 4+ years’ of leadership experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Ability to prioritize workload and possess excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent communication (spoken and written) skills, including the ability to explain and present technical information and train/advise line operators
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment and take the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly
  • Leadership - ability to lead cross-functional team
  • Communication - ability to simplify issues/direction and communicate verbally and written to all levels of employees
  • Organizational - ability to pull information together from numerous sources and consolidate into a plan/direction for the organization
  • Requires the ability to bend, twist, pull, lift and stand for extended periods of time
  • Capable of lifting a minimum of 30lb

Responsibilities

  • Taking morning attendance
  • Ensuring all operators perform the ESD test upon entering the Server Build Area
  • Ensuring all operators are wearing proper ESD equipment
  • Assigning operators to stations
  • Train operators on assembly tasks (new process/SKUs excluded)
  • Train new operators on company policy, lunch/break, line orientation
  • Deploy the SOP to the displays
  • Coordinate with the Unboxing/Materials Running team to ensure on-time material delivery and synchronize on the next job
  • Ensure operators are using the Status Lights properly
  • Observe progress at each station and give the command to move
  • Assisting operators when they fall behind in assembly tasks
  • Keeping the line running
  • Removing non-conforming parts or systems from the line immediately when they are identified
  • Ensure that items are tagged/logged & replacements are requested immediately
  • Assigning IPQC inspectors to resolve quality issues offline
  • Identify operators having trouble with their assigned tasks
  • Coach operators on new tasks
  • Rotate operators to different stations
  • Rotate operators with the Unboxing/Materials Running team
  • Observer the line balance
  • Ensure that operators understand and are following the assigned tasks on a new job
  • Identify bottlenecks or pinch points
  • Work with the Server Build Support team to analyze and resolve bottlenecks
  • Ensure end-of-day clean-up is performed on the line
  • Turn off lights/monitors/fans
  • Ensure trash bins are emptied by the Materials Flow team
  • Ensure proper tooling is available for all operators during the job change
