About The Position

A Lead is responsible for the operation of a work cell consisting of up to four people. Duties include, but are not limited to frequently verifying methods and sequence, ensuring production targets are met, leading the cell in 5S improvements, and problem solving. The ideal candidate is a good communicator who can give and take constructive feedback, collaborate with coworkers, and prioritize workflow in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating a positive attitude and interpersonal skills. The Lead will work under the direct supervision of the assembly Supervisor/Sr Assembly Lead and will bring with them previous manufacturing experience.

Requirements

  • 2 years assembly experience or above average BEGA product knowledge
  • Excellent communication across teams and departments, with a demonstrated use of formal methods
  • Demonstrated record of continuous improvement for department processes and methods
  • Strong computer skills as measured by the Standard Work of the department, including but not limited to Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Ability to read assembly drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to Read, Write, Speak, and comprehend English.
  • Works well with co-workers and takes constructive criticism from peers and Managers.
  • Ability to take directions and adapt to a fast paced and frequently changing environment.
  • Takes initiative to complete other tasks when the workload is light or to reprioritize when workload is high.

Responsibilities

  • Train and lead employees on the elements of the BBS and how they apply to the work area. Including, but not limited to: 5S, One-Piece Flow, Teamwork, Visual Management, Focused Improvement, and Safety
  • Assemble manufacturing orders according to the schedule and with a high regard for quality
  • Help maintain a set of Key Performance Indicators to measure and improve performance within work area
  • Lead and engage others in daily stand-up meeting to review tier I level performance
  • Champion and continually improve Standard Work
  • Utilize lean manufacturing techniques to continuously improve processes
  • Lead audit and red tag initiatives in department-wide 5S program
  • Work and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Actively participate in employee performance reviews of existing and new employees
  • Demonstrate effective situational and systemic problem solving, as well as cross-functional teamwork, to successfully complete continuous improvement initiatives
