About The Position

The Assembly Lead is a working floor mentor for Assembly Technicians who operate a variety of equipment to manufacture products. The role includes assembling, modifying, inspecting, and testing parts and assemblies, while sharing knowledge and techniques with colleagues. The position interfaces with others in the organization to help meet customer deadlines and may involve travel up to 10%. Duties and responsibilities may change as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency using most hand-operated tools.
• Basic knowledge of the use and maintenance of common shop tools.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent teamwork skills and a high degree of initiative.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with a high level of self-motivation and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Measure parts to determine specified tolerances.
• Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spot-face bolt holes in parts.
• Follow written instructions, notes, and dimensions on drawings, and follow the redline process for drawing errors.
• Bolt, screw, and rivet parts together; disassemble and replace parts as required.
• Clean and lubricate parts and assemblies, and mark identifying information on parts.
• Apply proper riveting techniques and modify parts according to drawings, including cutting, drilling, and radiusing.
• Identify required dash numbers in a drawing structure.
• Perform soldering and crimping operations.
• Test the functional performance of assemblies.
• Share knowledge and techniques to help others progress.
• Interface with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
