BlackSky is seeking a strong Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) Technician for our Tukwila, WA office. In this role, you will support the assembly, test, and delivery of our satellites. You will work on production efforts and are expected to become familiar with assembly and test procedures and techniques across a wide variety of products. Travel to international and domestic launch sites may be required to support satellite integration with the launch vehicle. This role is expected in the office full-time and reports to the Director of Production.

Requirements

  • Previous experience with lab equipment (multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • At least two years of experience in at least two of the following areas: wire harness assembly, PCA assembly and test, mechanical assembly, epoxy/adhesive preparation and application, electromechanical component, and/or system testing.
  • Able to perform moderate physical labor involving standing for extended durations, reaching and bending, etc. and to work to a schedule and follow directions.
  • Capability to work in a dynamic, multi-task, environment with frequently shifting priorities and technical challenges.
  • The ability to think independently while also embracing communication among a large and diverse set of project and company stakeholders.
  • Must be a US Person.

Nice To Haves

  • J-STD-001 soldering certification.
  • Previous experience (2-4 years) working on spaceflight hardware.
  • Experience with environmental test equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly and test operations on our satellite production line.
  • Assemble and inspect electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Set up and execute functional and performance tests of electronics components and systems.
  • Participate in anomaly/failure investigation and resolution.
  • Provide feedback on designs and processes; participate in process improvement activities.
  • Support other assembly and test activities across the company such as wire harnesses, printed circuit assemblies, etc.
  • Fine-pitch soldering, wire harness assembly and repair, epoxy/adhesive application, and mechanical assembly.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
