About The Position

Leidos’ Defense Directed Energy Division is seeking Assembly, Integration and Test Technicians to join their team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED with at least 1 (or more) years of experience working in precision assembly and/or manufacturing assembly.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret security clearance.
  • Skillful knowledge of power tools, hand tools, and assembling structures with the ability to learn the integration of large structures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering documents, and assembly instructions.
  • Proficient in using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hand-eye coordination.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP/shop floor systems.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be adept with hand tools including drills, grinders, wrenches and screwdrivers, impact rivet guns, rivet puller.
  • Candidate must be a resident of the Albuquerque area or willing to relocate to Albuquerque, NM metro area.
  • The candidate should be willing to work overtime, including weekends, if necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with high voltage (up to 100 kV) and high current (up to 10 kA) power systems.
  • Familiarity with Costpoint/Solumina/Agile/Windchill.
  • Effective Communication Skills.
  • Planning/Scheduling Experience.
  • Active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and structural assembly of military system components per work instructions, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and test equipment to assemble, fit, and install parts and components.
  • Conduct inspections of in-process and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
