Our SDG team in Chatsworth, CA is eagerly looking for an Assembly/Harnessing Technician to join their dynamic team. You will join the Manufacturing Assembly and Test team directly, reporting to our Manufacturing Supervisor and enjoy an on-site, collaborative working environment on first shift.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma (or equivalent) is required.
  • 5+ years of experience electrical assembly and soldering experience
  • Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (e.g. Aerospace, Medical Devices/FDA etc.) required
  • J-STD solder certification required
  • Ability to work directly from engineering drawings and written instructions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Additional training from a technical/vocational school always valued!
  • NASA Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assemble high reliability chassis and final assemblies using circuit cards, stand offs, wire harnesses, solder and crimping, electrical and mechanical instruments.
  • Perform high reliability soldering and crimping operations on complex sub-assemblies, electronic, and mechanical assemblies, repair of circuit boards, jumper wires, and wire harnesses.
  • Decipher and work from assembly drawings, worksheets, parts lists, test specifications, and other instructions, both written and oral.
  • Know and follow applicable Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) procedures
  • Perform running harnessing and working with motion control pointing mechanisms as required.
  • Work in concert with Product Engineering in diagnosing and proposing the necessary rework on models that are intricate in structure and design.
  • Work closely with engineering to innovate testing procedures and suggest changes in worksheet processes.
  • Clean components to required cleanliness levels.
  • Maintains traceability records, MDC forms and configuration records on controlled programs.
  • Work on repair units normally run with production units.
  • May be required to travel to customer facilities and service Moog hardware.
