About The Position

Aerometals is looking to add an Assembly Fabricator to their team. This full-time position offers a pay range of $21 - $25 hourly and a schedule of Monday - Thursday from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm. The role involves installing units, parts, equipment, and components, fastening them with various hardware, and aligning parts for assembly. The fabricator will also be responsible for cutting, trimming, and filing parts to ensure proper fit, performing layout and fabrication of items, and applying sealants and adhesives according to specifications. The position requires the use of hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing equipment, as well as the ability to solve dimensional problems using mathematics and verify work against specifications with measuring tools. Reading and interpreting technical documents like travelers, drawings, and specifications is crucial. The role also includes identifying product defects, communicating errors, determining tooling needs, creating tooling, and bagging/tagging finished products, while understanding manufacturing standards and documentation requirements. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanically inclined with good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to understand drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • 6 months of transferable skills.

Responsibilities

  • Install units, parts, equipment, and components.
  • Bolt, screw, and/or rivet accessories to fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies.
  • Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners as required.
  • Cut, trim, and file parts while verifying fitting tolerances to prepare for installation.
  • Perform layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment, or fabricated items.
  • Apply sealants, adhesives, resins, and solvents per customer specifications.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing equipment as required.
  • Use fractions, decimals, and mathematical formulas to solve dimensional problems.
  • Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications using measuring tools.
  • Read, interpret, and follow the travelers, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Identify product defects and communicate errors to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify tooling requirements and make tooling as needed.
  • Bag and tag finished products.
  • Understand applicable manufacturing standards and documentation requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
