About The Position

The Assembly Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily assembly operations within the welding-based automotive manufacturing facility. This role ensures production targets are met while maintaining quality standards, safety compliance, and efficient workflow across assembly lines. The coordinator also supports Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Corporate Governance initiatives, aiming to meet challenges of a changed legal and business environment, enhance trust among customers, associates, and society, and improve business operations through compliance. The role is accountable to Assembly Managers and the Plant Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2–5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, welding, or assembly operations.
  • Basic knowledge of welding processes.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in basic computer systems (e.g., production tracking software, Excel).
  • Leadership and team coordination.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Attention to detail and quality focus.
  • Time management and multitasking.
  • Safety awareness and compliance mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification.
  • Knowledge of MIG, TIG, spot welding.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and coordinating daily assembly operations within the welding-based automotive manufacturing facility.
  • Ensuring production targets are met while maintaining quality standards, safety compliance, and efficient workflow across assembly lines.
  • Support (ATA) efforts to promote Corporate Social Responsibility, (CSR) and ensure activities are carried out in cooperation with G-TEKT CSR, and Corporate Governance initiatives and activities to ensure compliance in functional areas of responsibility.
  • Support the Corporate Governance Policy of Austin Tri-Hawk Automotive and the Objectives of: Meeting challenges of changed legal and business environment.
  • Enhancing the trust of ATA among customers, associates, and society.
  • Implementing activities to improve ATA business operations using a strategy of Compliance.
  • Accountable to Assembly Managers, Plant Manager.
  • Lead shift Team Leaders.
  • Advise assembly associate in manufacturing functions.
  • Assist with production planning.
  • Foster continuous improvement in production and facilities.
  • Act as a liaison between assembly teams, quality control, engineering, and management.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by promoting and enforcing safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and on-the-job support to new hires and less experienced team members.
  • Respond promptly to internal production issues and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including production logs, quality records, and reports.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Support ISO-9001 / ISO-14001 requirements.
  • Coordinate daily assembly and welding line activities to meet production schedules and targets.
  • Monitor workflow, identify issues, and adjust staffing or processes to maintain efficiency.
  • Ensure assemblies meet engineering specifications and automotive quality standards.
  • Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings for proper execution.
  • Track and report production metrics, including output, downtime, and defects.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to address equipment issues and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure proper material flow, including availability of parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, 5S, waste reduction).
  • Assist in troubleshooting welding and assembly issues on the production floor.
  • Confirm accuracy in machine and jig usage for production.
  • Monitor product quality for 100% compliance to part specifications and tolerances.
  • Plan, lead and document meetings to foster communication to associates.
  • Educate and develop associates for advancement opportunities through training and assessments.
