We are currently recruiting for a midnight shift Assembly/CNC Technician at our Fowlerville plant home to the global production of Gen1 Integrated Brake Control (IBC) systems that offer excellent responsiveness for automatic emergency braking and power regeneration for vehicle electrification. ZF Fowlerville is a powerhouse of lean manufacturing, shipping up to 6,500 brake units each day and handling 58 million components a month. What you can look forward to as an Assembly/CNC Technician: Performing maintenance and repairs on CNC Machining centers, high pressure water deburr systems and additional production equipment. Perform preventative maintenance programs on production equipment (i.e., cleaning, retooling, oil-changing, calibrating, aligning, etc.) Performs corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and repair for a variety of assembly/machining and test equipment consisting of electronics, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, software, hardware, and robotics systems. Assists in process design improvement engineering studies involving product throughput, first-run yields, ergonomics, tooling, equipment, and manufacturing processes. Respond to assembly lines or specific equipment to provide real time assistance, swift diagnosis of critical maintenance issues, performing repairs, and providing proactive communication to leadership for major maintenance issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years related mechanical or electrical experience or applicable apprenticeship or in-house training program preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting skills including electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Ability to use/operate hand tools and/or power tools, shop equipment (lathe, mills, grinder, etc.)
  • Read, understand, and perceive relevant technical and non-technical material
  • Computer and software literate
  • Ability to read and understand electrical prints.
  • Knowledge of process improvement, corrective maintenance, and preventive maintenance
  • Knowledge of PLC/SRC/RS LOGIX, Ladder Logic preferred
  • Knowledge of Fanuc, Staubli or UR robotic systems helpful but not required
  • Knowledge of Cognex & Keyence vision systems preferred

Nice To Haves
