About The Position

Under close supervision of the Lead and/or Production Manager, the Assembler C position is responsible for simple and repetitive job assignments with work ranging from simple to semi-complex in accordance with work order instructions, Engineering Drawings and Manufacturing Process Specifications.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum 2-5 years ’experience assembling electro/mechanical hardware as stated above, preferably to military requirements and specifications.
  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience reading assembly blueprints, IPC/WHMA-A-620 and hardware requirements.
  • Must be able to read and understand both written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must be able to pass soldering test and be certified ANSI-J-STD-001 and/or IPC610 as required

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, and other parts onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) according to specifications and diagrams. This may also include handling of surface mount and through-hole technology.
  • Perform soldering tasks to ensure secure and reliable connections. This includes both hand-soldering and operating soldering machines.
  • Inspect assembled products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Perform functional tests using various electronic testing equipment to ensure proper operation of assembled devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions to build electronic assemblies correctly.
  • Perform wiring and cabling tasks, including cutting, stripping, and connecting wires and cables as required for the electronic assembly.
  • Adhere to quality control standards by checking for defects, making necessary repairs, and ensuring all components are properly installed and functioning.
  • Identify and resolve issues with electronic assemblies, including diagnosing and repairing faulty components and connections.
  • Maintain and calibrate assembly and testing equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, test results, and repairs. Update documentation to reflect any changes or modifications to the assembly procedures.
  • Ensure that all assembly work complies with relevant industry standards, safety regulations and company policies.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, designers and other team members to resolve assembly issues and improve processes.
