About The Position

Responsible for performing a wide variety of assembly operations which may include skilled hand work or utilizing automated production equipment. Comprehends and interprets a variety of technical specifications, terms and documents. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant assembly experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 2 years of prior related assembly experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience with various types of precision measurement tools (micrometers, go/no-go gauges, etc.) and blueprint reading.
Experience in a manufacturing assembly environment.
Familiar with reading blueprints/drawings and part lists.

Responsibilities

Perform a wide variety of assembly operations, including skilled hand work and utilization of automated production equipment.
Interpret technical specifications, terms, and documents.
Determine and follow methods and sequence of operations for wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing.
Make setups and adjustments, holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
Read and understand manufacturing descriptions (DM, DOM) for operation assembly instructions.
Handle small parts with tweezers and/or special tools.
Operate various types of assembly equipment (assembly machines, press stakers, air screw drivers, etc.) with proper training.
Visually inspect components and subassemblies for obvious defects before, during, and after assembly.
Check completed assemblies for conformance with quality standards and DMs.
Maintain assembly/quality records paperwork as required.
Obtain a Security Clearance.
