About The Position

The Assembly Associate reports to the Engineering Lab Supervisor and/or Production Lead personnel and is responsible for supporting assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of products and processes. The role works closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure products are assembled safely and efficiently. The role is also accountable for meeting and exceeding company-wide expectations in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and attitude/teamwork. Connected Development is a specialist in the electronic component distribution and design engineering services industries. This position will be onsite in Auburn Hills, MI.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; some additional course work in a related technical field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, bills of material, and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with assembly processes and quality inspection methods.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and test equipment.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Safely work around ESD sensitive devices.
  • Detail oriented, with a firm understanding and execution of QC standards.
  • Must be responsible and reliable.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Must be able to carefully follow instructions.
  • While unassisted: bend, sit, kneel, and squat, balance, twist and turn, reach over one's shoulders, walk and stand continuously for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift to shoulder height and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to move throughout assembly and laboratory areas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly, testing, and inspection, of products, subassemblies, and prototypes.
  • Operate equipment, tools, and test systems safely and effectively.
  • Support prototype builds, pilot production runs, and new product introductions.
  • Document test results, process observations, and production data accurately.
  • Identify and report nonconforming materials, products, and process deviations.
  • Assist Engineering and Quality teams with root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Maintain an organized and safe work environment.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
