About The Position

This is an amazing opportunity for an Assembly Mechanic in our Development Operations Department. This will be a 2nd shift opening for a labor grade four. Our 2nd shift has a 10% shift differential for pay and operates from 3:30pm to Midnight. Use a wide variety of power and mechanical tools to perform functional checks on engine assembly and components. Perform Dimensional and Visual inspections following standardized methods and established techniques. This process may involve surface plate work or standard measuring techniques to verify accuracy of parts, tools, gages, or other equipment. The Inspector will be accepting or rejecting material based on findings. Work from applicable written inspection procedures and engineering drawings. Work with other pertinent instructions to plan and perform dimensional and/or visual inspection on parts, tools, gages and other equipment. Accepting or referring material for rework or quality review based on findings. Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments including automated measuring machines. Program instructions are well-defined will be checking dimensions and record results. Perform necessary mathematical computations to resolve extent of nonconformance and complete appropriate paperwork. Follow Proper procedures to perform in-line checks and verifications of dimensions and make sure that operation sheets are being followed. May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals' skills.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • At least 2 years of formal training in power-plant mechanics and testing.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Requires ability to interpret and work from complicated drawings, specifications, procedures and instructions to assemble, fabricate, configure, install, remove/replace and set up a variety of power systems, components, modules, test stands and equipment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • A&P License
  • Experience working from complicated drawings, specifications, procedures, and instructions to fabricate, configure, install, remove/replace and set up a variety of power systems, components, modules, and associated equipment.
  • Experience working with Solumina, SFWF, or similar programs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certifications to operate powered industrial vehicles.
  • Has a well rounded knowledge of aero-propulsion systems, hardware, components, instrumentation installations, engine assembly or test stand configurations.
  • Equivalent to 4 years high school plus 4 years formal training in power-plant mechanics and testing.
