About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Assembly Advisement Workplace Coach (Level 4) to join the Composite Manufacturing Center team located in Puyallup, Washington. This role utilizes manufacturing and assembly experience in areas such as mechanical, composites fabrication, and composites assembly to provide coaching, performance improvement, and problem-solving support for the Boeing Production System. The coach will analyze performance and quality data, conduct process assessments, and provide feedback for improvement opportunities and risk mitigation. They will also assist managers and team leads with Structured On the Job Training (SOJT) and advanced skills training, acting as a Subject Matter Expert for specific manufacturing and quality skills. The role involves providing instruction, positive modeling, timely feedback, and reinforcing efforts to ensure team members understand expected behaviors and proficiency levels. Establishing good interpersonal relationships and making team members feel valued are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in aircraft manufacturing physically working with assembly processes and procedures
  • 5+ years of experience working in manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications
  • 3+ years of experience mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams
  • Willingness to work variable shifts and overtime as needed to support production

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in aircraft assembly process is critical
  • Experience and proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and templates
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Possess Manufacturing experience in one or more of these areas: Mechanical, Composites Fabrication, Composites Assembly

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes manufacturing and assembly experience in one or more of these areas; mechanical, composites fabrication, composites assembly, machine operations for coaching, performance improvement and problem solving in support of the Boeing Production System
  • Analyzes and interprets performance and quality data to identify and mitigate the impact of changes on the production system.
  • Conducts assessments of processes and practices, analyzes and interprets data for improvement opportunities
  • Provides feedback on assessment results and identifies opportunities for improvement and potential areas of risk
  • Analyzes processes and supports Boeing Production System problem solving, develop and document innovative solutions in support of area Q.C.D.S.M. goals
  • Assist Manufacturing & Quality managers; and team leads with Structured On the Job Training (SOJT) plan
  • Program/job specific, advanced skills training- Supports training and coaching solutions to improve employee performance
  • Work Place Coaching- Provide Subject Matter Experts for specific Manufacturing & Quality Skills/Disciplines
  • Provides instruction, positive modeling, and opportunities for observation in order to help team members
  • Encourages questions to ensure understanding when coaching
  • Provide timely, appropriate feedback on performance
  • Reinforces efforts and progress
  • Clarifies expected behaviors, knowledge, and level of proficiency by seeking and giving information and checking for understanding
