About The Position

This is a full-time position where the employee will be an AMD (Autonomous Manufacturing Development) Member and a CSD (Continuous Skills Development) Pillar Team Member. The role involves supporting DDS (Daily Direct Setting) and maintaining a clean and organized work area in compliance with 5S requirements. The Assembler will be responsible for obtaining the work schedule, daily production paperwork, and preparing for operations. This role may involve performing any job within the department, including covering for vacations or unexpected absenteeism. The primary duties include product assembly, filling cartons, and packing cases according to specific work instructions.

Requirements

  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP).
  • Comply with plant LockOut/TagOut (LOTO) policy and implement correct procedures.
  • Keep working area clean at all times and in compliance with 5S requirements.
  • Inspect cleaned production equipment.
  • Set-up workstation with plastic trays, tubs, trash cans and floor mats as required.
  • Manually obtain franks from incline conveyor and position onto cut pieces of dough.
  • Manually wrap and roll franks in dough to specification.
  • Remove non-conforming pieces to rework tubs.
  • Place completed franks in blankets in plastic trays.
  • Position full trays to the CO2 tunnel for further processing.
  • Manually obtain tray franks in blankets as it exits the CO2 tunnel.
  • Insert divider and stack 2nd tray on top.
  • Position stacked trays to assembled carton and push trays into the carton.
  • Monitor packed cases as they move through auto-carton sealer.
  • Fill carton maker hopper and clear jams.
  • Inspect cleaned packaging equipment.
  • Set-up workstation with cases, cartons, tape, trashcans and floor mats as required.
  • Manually assemble cases.
  • Obtain cartons of franks in blankets as they exit the carton sealer.
  • Hand pack into assembled case and push through case sealer.
  • Fill carton maker magazine with stacks of carton blanks.
  • Replace tape rolls as required.
  • Perform job duties according to specific work instructions (e.g., 0549.4.2.3.047, 0549.4.2.3.067, etc.).
  • Consolidate rework tubs for future processing.
  • Breakdown and clean the tools, parts and equipment at the end of the shift or when necessary.
  • Secure all equipment at the end of shift.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties at the end of shift.
  • Complete all required paperwork at the end of shift.

Responsibilities

  • Keep working area clean at all times and in compliance with 5S requirements.
  • Obtain work schedule, daily production paperwork, and prepare for operations.
  • Inspect cleaned production equipment and set up workstation.
  • Perform product assembly, including positioning franks, wrapping, and packing trays.
  • Fill cartons by stacking trays and inserting them into assembled cartons.
  • Pack cases by assembling cases, hand-packing cartons, and sealing cases.
  • Monitor packed cases and cartons, fill carton maker hopper, and clear jams.
  • Remove non-conforming product and place it in appropriate rework tubs.
  • Consolidate rework tubs and assist other Operators and Assemblers.
  • Break down and clean tools, parts, and equipment at the end of the shift or when necessary.
  • Secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties, and complete all required paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
