About The Position

Assembles electronic components, subassemblies, or products by performing various assembly and inspection duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to understand structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to talk to others to convey information effectively.
  • Ability to listen by giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Proficiency in using calibration software.
  • Proficiency in using personal computer with Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance including hand trucks, hoists, insertion tools, power drills, screwdrivers, soldering irons, wire strippers, tweezers, utility knives, digital volumeters, wire cutters.
  • Knowledge of installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Crimping, staking, screwing, bolting, riveting, welding, soldering, cementing, press fitting, or performing similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
  • Mounting assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel.
  • Installing finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
  • Assembling and attaching hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies.
  • Tending machines that press, shape, or wind component parts.
  • Adjusting or trimming materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
  • Performing online go-not-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
  • Inspecting work done in the manufacturing process for quality standards.
  • Preparing product for shipping.
  • Assembling appropriate packing materials and packaging product.
