About The Position

The Assembler is an entry-level position that performs repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce products. The role assembles products such as windows, doors, trusses, panels, or stairs, following production requirements and safety procedures. Education and experience are not required. Prior carpentry experience is helpful. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence.
Ability to communicate information verbally in individual and small-group situations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Ability to read a tape measure.
Ability to use common-sense understanding to follow detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to meet the position's physical demands, including prolonged standing, frequent walking, and lifting or moving materials.
Ability to wear required ear plugs, eye protection, and other personal protective equipment.

Prior carpentry experience.

Responsibilities

Place parts in specified relationships to one another.
Fasten parts together using bolts, clips, screws, cement, or other methods.
Cut products to specific measurements as needed.
Remove defective products as needed.
Operate machines used for force-fitting or fastening operations on an assembly line.
Work at different workstations as production needs require.
Adapt to changing tasks as different product models are produced.
Clean equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
