Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking Assemblers to join their growing production team in Charlotte, NC. This role involves building custom electrical and mechanical control panels in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment. Requirements

Willingness to learn, retain information and become proficient in basic electronic production processes.
Basic understanding of quality and productivity standards.

Lift, push, pull and maneuver up to 40 pounds frequently.
Sit and/or stand at least 8 hours.
Vision correctable to 20/30 or better.
Differentiate color.
Reach, bend, kneel, twist, grip, pinch.
Fine finger dexterity sufficient to handle and place parts with precision and accuracy for at least 8 hours.

Responsibilities

Build custom electrical and mechanical control panels according to schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
Perform mechanical assembly of panel enclosures, mounting components such as DIN rail, terminal blocks, PLCs, relays, and power supplies.
Wire panels point-to-point, including power, control, and communication wiring.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
Label wires, devices, and panels to specification.
Perform panel testing, inspection, and troubleshooting to verify proper operation.
Identify and correct wiring or assembly issues prior to final delivery.
Follow safety standards, quality procedures, and build documentations.
Following detailed work instructions to perform production duties such as assembly, operating machinery, packaging products, building products and soldering.
Learning and following all safety policies.
Developing positive and effective working relationships with co-workers.
Following and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
