About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking an Assembler I at its Weathers St site in Youngsville, North Carolina. The role builds sub-assemblies and assemblies involving complex and repetitive wiring for Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS), following standard operating procedures and Raleigh Plant Quality standards. The pay rate is $18.50 per hour.

Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the Youngsville facility; active-duty military candidates are exempt from this geographic limitation. No relocation benefit is offered. Eaton does not provide immigration sponsorship or support for this position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited educational institution.
• Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility.
• Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures.
• Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime and willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as needed.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to distinguish colored wiring.
• Ability to stand for extended periods; repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting are inherent to the position.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with standard operating procedures.
• Previous experience with product electrical assembly, maintenance, and/or repair.
• Soldering experience.
• Basic working knowledge and experience with computers.

Responsibilities

• Build sub-assemblies and assemblies using standard operating procedures.
• Visually inspect materials before and after assembly.
• Use fixtures, gauges, hand tools, and power tools to assemble, adjust, or repair products.
• Inspect completed assemblies for compliance with Raleigh Plant Quality standards and make necessary adjustments to meet quality goals.
• Follow environmental, health, and safety rules and regulations.
• Provide ideas for process and safety improvements.
• Ensure machines and tools are properly calibrated.
• Perform housekeeping duties as necessary using 5S+ principles.
