About The Position

The Assembler is responsible for assembling heavy-duty wooden mats according to production specifications and company quality standards. This position uses hand tools, power tools, and production equipment to position, align, secure, and inspect wood components. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, able to perform physically demanding work, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, lumber production, assembly, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience using hand and power tools is helpful.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and follow basic measurements and production instructions.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
  • Strong attention to quality and detail.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
  • Willingness to learn different tasks within the Mats Department.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods. (12-Hour Shifts)
  • Frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, push, and pull.
  • Regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance when required.
  • Safely handle tools, hardware, lumber, and production materials.
  • Perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Work around moving equipment and industrial machinery.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, safety-toe footwear, and other equipment as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble wooden mats according to required measurements, specifications, and production standards.
  • Position and align timbers and other wood components before assembly.
  • Use drills, impact tools, hammers, wrenches, and other equipment to securely fasten materials.
  • Install bolts, rods, cables, nails, or other required hardware.
  • Inspect lumber and completed mats for defects, damage, incorrect measurements, or improper assembly.
  • Verify that finished products meet quality and customer requirements.
  • Assist with moving, stacking, and organizing materials and completed products.
  • Maintain an organized and safe work area.
  • Follow production schedules and meet daily productivity expectations.
  • Work cooperatively with machine operators, forklift operators, supervisors, and other team members.
  • Report equipment problems, damaged materials, quality concerns, and safety hazards to the supervisor.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and required personal protective equipment guidelines.
  • Perform additional production-related duties as assigned.
