About The Position

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking an Assembler - 1st Shift in Indianapolis, IN. The hourly rate for this position is $21.50 per hour. Core hours are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) is required.
  • No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Indianapolis, IN facility. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read and write, simple math skills including adding and subtracting whole numbers and fractions.
  • Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
  • Ability to communicate problems in product or quality in to supervisor or manager clearly and concisely.
  • Following all safety policies and procedures, complying with work instructions, wearing proper PPE, complying with the attire policy, and assuring that the work cell has safe equipment and no risk is placed on their coworkers or themselves.
  • Ability to support a team environment, accepting other duties as assigned, including flexing between work cells as needed.
  • Responsible for general cleaning of shop areas and personal 5S/industrial housekeeping.

Responsibilities

  • Work to standard operating procedures, bill of materials, manufacturing information, and instruction from Management or Engineering to established procedures.
  • Responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly by conducting inspection for conformance to drawings and specifications, functional operation and appearance and making mechanical adjustments as needed.
  • Be fully trained on multiple operations within the department, which includes component assembly, unit assembly and testing.
  • Use equipment such as various hand and air tools, torque wrenches, hoists, hydraulic press.
  • Be responsible for setting up the workstation, maintaining production, process control and quality standards, and conforming to all safety standards.
  • Carry out all assemblies, processes, tests, and inspections related to the production of three product lines.
  • Perform work in a manner which supports Eaton’s Quality systems (ISO 9001).
  • Be responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly.
  • Work within quality and quantity standards.
  • Maintain work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping and 5S efforts.
  • Work a reasonable amount of overtime, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
  • Perform minor and preventative maintenance in assigned workstations.
