About The Position

This role involves inspecting and assembling cleaned production equipment, setting up processes according to the product being run, and performing various tasks in the packing, boxing, and slicing areas. The Assembler must adhere to safety policies, OSHA regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This position may require performing any job within the department to cover for absences or vacations.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform tasks in packing, boxing, and slicing areas.
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack.
  • Ability to perform quality checks.
  • Familiarity with work instructions: 0549.4.2.3.011 – Assembler, 0549.4.2.3.067 - Teardown, 0549.5.1.3.010 – Kosher Hold Tag, 0549.5.4.2.005 – Control of Non Conforming Product, 0549.6.4.3.001 – Contamination Control.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures, and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP), including proper waste disposal, attire, grooming, and hygiene.
  • Comply with plant LockOut/TagOut (LOTO) policy and implement correct procedures.
  • Obtain work schedule, daily production paperwork, and prepare for operations.
  • Inspect and assemble cleaned production equipment and set up processes.
  • Visually inspect, sort, and arrange products on conveyors, removing non-conforming items.
  • Report deviations in product or machine requirements to supervisors and QA personnel.
  • Maintain a clean work area and dispose of trash properly.
  • Perform tasks in the packing area, including counting and placing products, monitoring packaging, and consolidating rework tubs.
  • Perform tasks in the boxing area, including hand-filling boxes, sealing boxes, assembling boxes, and stacking cases on pallets.
  • Manually wrap full pallets and transport them to the staging area.
  • Perform tasks in the slicing area, including checking production schedules, obtaining supplies, cutting meat products, checking weights, and placing products into packaging lines.
  • Monitor equipment, clear jams, perform quality checks, and strip/rework product.
  • Break down and clean machine parts at the end of the shift or as needed.
  • Secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties, and complete required paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
