About The Position

Utility Solutions is seeking a LEVEL 1 ASSEMBLER to join their team in Hickory, NC. The Level I Assembler reports to the Production Supervisor. This position focuses on constructing products by assembling parts and subassemblies. The scope of assemblies is generally limited to less complex tools and subassembly components utilized in the manufacture of more complex tools.

Requirements

High school degree or GED equivalent
Manufacturing experience preferred
Willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Ability to multi-task
Strong safety orientation
Attention to detail
Excellent hand-eye coordination
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and specifications provided by engineering
Basic understanding of conventional measuring tools and techniques, to assure compliance with technical specifications
Ability to braze mechanical components
Ability to solder electrical components

Responsibilities

Glue critical components together following procedures faithfully and repeatably.
Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
Follow Work Orders.
Assemble products according to approved standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Meet or exceed all established quality standards.
Verify specifications by measuring completed components.
Package completed assemblies according to approved standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Operate machines of limited complexity to perform assembly process on the assembly line.
Be proficient at multiple tasks within a work center.
