About The Position

This is an entry-level position that performs repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce products such as windows, doors, trusses, panels, or stairs. The role involves placing parts in specific relationships, fastening them together with bolts, clips, screws, or cement, and cutting products to specific measurements as needed. The assembler will also remove defective products, tend machines for fastening operations, and work at different workstations as production needs require, adapting to tasks that change with varying product models. Cleaning of equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures is also a responsibility. Overtime work may be involved.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Verbal expression ability to effectively present information, in both individual and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to read tape measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Continuously required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Continuously required to walk.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must continuously lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Will be required to wear eye protection and other personal protective equipment required by the location.
