About The Position

This role involves assembling parts according to process sheets and print instructions, performing various electrical, mechanical, and magnetic tests, and assisting with prototype builds. The position also requires participation in team initiatives, adherence to GE Leadership behaviors, and maintaining good housekeeping and safety practices. The role may involve working with chemicals, hazardous operations, and shifts beyond a standard workweek, requiring the employee to be at least 18 years of age. Employment is contingent upon the ability to prove U.S. Person status and successful completion of a drug screen.

Requirements

  • High School Education or GED equivalency.
  • Ability to continuously use hands and fingers in repetition.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or balance.
  • Ability to continuously sit.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 22 lbs.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
  • Must be able to prove U.S. Person status (U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, asylee or refugee status).
  • Successful completion of a drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred assembly, solder experience and electronics manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble parts according to process sheet/print instructions.
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, magnetic testing as required (i.e. – dielectric, meggar, hipot, etc.).
  • Perform in-process hi-pot testing.
  • Perform basic set up of fixtures.
  • Perform vapor blasting as required.
  • Perform inventory counts and verification.
  • Assist with proto-type or first time builds with guidance from higher level employees.
  • Assist Engineering and/or Team in development and/or improvement of layout procedures and process sheets.
  • Review expiration date of materials to ensure materials & equipment to ensure all are current.
  • Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products.
  • Maintain good housekeeping skills.
  • Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures.
  • Cross-train other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience.
  • Compliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation.
  • Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach.
  • Keep all shift operators informed on special problems involving operation or set up.
  • Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of new processes and/or issues.
  • May interact with internal cross-functional teams (i.e. – planning).
  • Participates in and support team initiatives.
  • Understands and abides by the GE Leadership behaviors.
  • Other duties as be required.
